The entrance to the city’s hottest spot for oysters and people-watching is hidden beneath the loading docks of the DoubleTree by Hilton in the Dubai Marina. The classy seafood restaurant features marble tabletops, green antique banker lamps, and an exposed brick wall inside, but try to grab a seat on the outdoor terrace for views of the Arabian Gulf and the not-yet-completed Dubai Eye ferris wheel.

All in all, expect wholesome, honest food, great service and a hip vibe. The Maine’s formula for a great dining experience is spot on - I see this fast becoming a city favourite.

MAINE is a stylish seafood restaurant, tucked away in the loading bay of the Doubletree by Hilton in JBR. It’s a bright, modern space and ticks all the hipster boxes – craft hops, waiters with braces and facial hair, and, most importantly, good food.

we can’t recommend the food enough – after all The MAINE did pick up a Highly Commended gong in the seafood category at our Restaurant Awards this year. Oysters are, of course, the order of the day, but the lobster roll is top notch, too.

The big-ticket feature of the space is the terrace, which, during my visit, was draped with strings of fairy lights, creating a charming environment perfect for unwinding after a long day at work or for celebrating a special occasion.

Maine is extremely popular with the ladies, and that was proven by me being one of the only men in the restaurant. No wonder the manager walks around with a big smile on his face. I too, know what it feels like to be able to comp a bottle of champagne to a table of pretty ladies! Not all heroes wear capes; some also bring bubbles.
